only 2 more weeks until our Christmas break. It was great to hear all that everyone was grateful for this morning and wonderful to hear the hearts of so many being developed, changed and fulfilled by our Lord.
It was also good to get back to the grind of learning and I for one was very encouraged by the thoughtful comments and questions from the students in both my World History and World Literature classes. My prayer is that God will continue to stir their hearts to all that we discussed, as most of it was pratical to each of our own walks with the Lord although somehow our history was weaved into that discussion. Moms, if your students have not had a chance to get to the book we are reading in literature, please if possible encourage them to continue to participate in the class anyway. As we are reading historical fiction, the books I have chosen specifically correlate to the unit we are studying in the History class. We also get into the meat of literature devices, terms, etc, as well as vocabulary that they will need if only for the upcoming SAT's they will take. In addition, especially since most of the books I have chosen have either Christian themes and undertones or are blatantly Christian, they are applicable to our lives. So even if your student has not read, they will get a wealth of knowledge while participating in the class from literature knowledge to historical knowledge to life application knowledge.
It looks like we have chosen to postpone the open house until after the holidays, which I know will allow us all to exhale, since we all know that December is already one of the busiest months of the year for most families. Moms please continue to be diligent to check your email for updates and information specific to us moms.
