Wow, the holidays are upon us.  No classes for 3 weeks, yahoo!  Yesterday was great!  A big thanks to Shirley for all of the planning and execution of yesterdays food and fun. It was a wonderful treat to have Ruthie McCowan  join us yesterday and a big thanks goes to her for helping Shirley to prepare the pizzas for the oven.  And thank you's also to all of the ladies that helped to execute getting the pizzas cooked.  You all did an awesome job of cleanup and we were able to leave early because of the willingness of the students to pitch in early and get it done.   The pizzas were great, the traditions were rich and it was awesome to hear of such diversity in every family, and the game was a blast!  We missed the Nacar's and hope that Jake is feeling better and of course we missed the Vannoy's and although we fully understand the absence, it will be good to see your return in January.  We will  return to classes on January 8th. I pray that everyone is blessed and is a blessing to those less fortunate during this Christmas and New Year.  Believe it or not we are so rich in our lifestyles and blessings, materially, physically and spiritually, and we need to be purposeful about sharing our wealth, in all 3 areas.  Don't be too hard on yourselves with those New Years Resolutions and remember that Jesus is the Reason for this season.
Here is the homework:

High School:

Spanish - Complete exercises 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3.

W. History- Please read unit unit 14 lessons 65-70 this week and review before we return to classes in January.  We will be having a jeopardy game, so know those answers.  Study the timeline for open house in January.  For open house you will also need to choose one of the lessons, your favorite or the most interesting to you, to present.

W. Literature- We are on to the next book which is "A Proud Taste for Scarlet and Minerva".  I suggest you start the book now so you can read it at your leisure instead of rushing through. Choose your best paper you have written thus far to display at open house also.

Biology
Module 6, complete all definitions for this chapter and/or the module 6 test.

Anatomy - Study the all the bones and know each for open house.  Ms. Shirley will be emailing a further assignment of which muscles each of you should know and memorize.  Be looking for that email. This is a good time to catch up on your coloring book assignments.  Maybe color one page a day.

Leadership- Work on your project and give a report on your success thus far to your parents and classmates if possible.  It was a great class and all of you did a bang up job.

Middle School:

Latin: Review all of lessons 1-6.  You will have a test covering lessons 6-10 on the first Tuesday back to classes, Jan. 8th.

Science: Students created a life-sized torso of themselves with several body systems.  I thought it might be nice to display these during the Open House we will have, so students may want to work more on them (in some cases make a new one since they may have destroyed it by the end of the day!).

IEW: Students created a draft of "The Telegraph." They need to add the Dress Ups and write a final version by the time we return in January. I may have students read their best essay during Open House.

History: Read Chapters "Daniel Webster's Youth" and "Webster's Speeches."  Write down 3 important ideas you learned in each chapter. We will be writing a little more on Webster when we return in January. Practice timeline facts/dates for Open House!

Literature: Read The Boy in the Alamo over the vacation.  According to the schedule we really should be done with the book upon return to classes in January.  Vocabulary will be sent via email.  Please write down 5 -7 facts that struck you as interesting as you read.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  Hopefully we will be able to have that New Years day get together we talked about.  Remember its not about the gifts we receive but what we give this season that matters.  God gave his very best, He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes on Him will have everlasting life.... Lets keep that in mind and give our very best because of His great love and mercy towards us.  Love you all.

Good morning C3 families.  There's only 1 week left before Christmas break and what a great week we have coming up.  Wow time is really flying by, before you know it, we will be saying goodbye to this school year.

Please continue to keep the Vannoys in prayer for their move and hopefully we will see them this coming Tuesday.  If not, we pray the Vannoy's and all the C3 families have a wonderful break.

Next week, we will be playing the "White Elephant" game in our morning schedule instead of having presenters.  Please bring a wrapped gift, either something from your home, a toy you no longer use, a gag gift, etc, or a bought gift with a limit of $1 - $2 for the game.  Each person must have a gift to play and please understand that the object of the game is fun.  Understand that stealing of gifts is allowed in this game so don't become attached to any gift.  It's all in good fun.

Be sure that your high school students are reading the blog each week so they will be sure of their homework assignments.  A lot of the students are telling me that they did not read the blog so they weren't aware of their homework.  I realize that this is on them and not your responsibility but since we are committed to helping our children succeed and I know each of the moms reads the blog, it would benefit our students if we ensure that they are getting their homework assignments each week.  Believe me, I am guilty of this myself and have to remind myself to ask my student to read the blog.
