CLASSICAL CHRISTIAN CO-OP OPEN HOUSE MEETING
Friday, March 08, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at Randle home
Attendance:  Shirley Alvarado, Tracie Bethea, Julia Cecil, Shawn McCowan, Sandra Murrillo, LaChrisha Randle, Terri Simpson
Open House will take place on Thursday, March 21st at 6:00 p.m. at The Chapel at Grossmont.   LaChrisha will check with Pastor John about two important items:  Can we set up at 5:00 p.m.?  Are we able to pin or tack items to the walls?
If we get approval from Pastor John, families should be at the church by 5:00 p.m. on March 21st to help with set-up.  Each family is responsible for helping their students prepare their presentations or displays and bringing them to the Open House.
Shirley emailed a flyer that families can use to invite family and friends.  There was some discussion about having our high school students assist as emcees for the event, but no final decisions were made.
Agenda for the Open House will be:
1.      Opening Prayer and Welcome
2.      Music Recital by Simpson family
3.      Student Presentations (approximately one hour)
Elementary Students
Middle School Students
High School Students
4.      View Displays
5.      Refreshments and Closing Prayer
The preliminary estimate for attendance is 60 people.  Each teacher discussed what students should be prepared to present or display at Open House.  The assignments are as follows:
Elementary students:  Sing vowel song.
Middle School students:
Science – Display human body posters.  Students may want to color in the body systems.
History – Recite the timeline and present their Civil War timelines.
Literature – Display book reports.
IEW – Display one or more of their essays.
Latin – Sing “O Come All Ye Faithful” in Latin.
High School students:
Anatomy – Present interactive body presentations using computer and display brain or eye experiments.
Biology – Display projects on Darwinism and DNA.
History – Present a song, rap, and mural.
Leadership – Display leadership project proposals, Spiritual Gifts assessments, and textbook materials.
Spanish – Present a movie trailer done in Spanish.
World Literature – Displays and essays on books chosen by students.
Food/refreshment assignments are as follows:
Shirley – sandwich rolls and cake from Costco (from co-op funds).  Shirley will also purchase bottled water and cups using co-op funds.
Shawn and LaChrisha – chips
Julia – salsa and veggies
Terri and Sandra – fruit
Tracie – large cooler of lemonade and veggies

Followup: We have approval from Pastor John for the 5pm set up time but as far as things on the walls he'd rather we use the blue tape as a loop on the back of whatever we are displaying.
Jonathan A., Jesse M. and Jonathan R. will be the MC's for the Open House.  Is there anyone that would be willing to volunteer to make a program for the open house that states the order of everything?  We can run off the copies using co-op funds.  Please let LaChrisha know if you are willing to take that on.
